In this episode I'll be talking about the ONE thing that usually stops us from doing what we wanna do. And that my friends is FEAR. I’m going to discuss each fear in detail and also give you the 3 tools that I’ve used to overcome my fears that you can use as well.
In this episode, I’ll be talking about playing small - why we do it and what it’s costing us. This is when you’re hiding from what you truly know you can do or wanna do - and really, it all stems from fear. And I get, it’s scary to go out there and do something different, it’s scary to put yourself out there. But really, how long can you do that for? Are you gonna spend the rest of your life, unfulfilled and doing something less than you know you’re capable of because you “might” fail?

In this episode, I’m gonna be talking about being an influencer as a side hustle and you’ll also be hearing from my guests Callie and Leo of The LA Couple on how they grew their following to over 50,000 in less than a year while working full time.
In this episode, I want talk to you about our good friend, TIME who most of us, especially if you’re like me - may have a love/hate relationship with. I’m gonna be talking about how long it’s going to take to be a successful influencer, how long it’s gonna take to grow your following, how long it’s going to take to start working with brands, monetizing and getting paid brand deals. All that good stuff.
In episode 5, I’m going to talk to you about getting started as an influencer.
I wanted to record an episode about this because I get this question ALL THE TIME and I get it, getting started sometimes feels like the hardest part. So in this episode, I’ll be talking about the WHY, the WHO and the WHAT. And as one of my mentors says, we’re gonna EFF the HOW for now. Meaning, we’re not gonna worry too much about HOW you’re going to do this or HOW you’re going to actually execute - but more of what is that you need to do, who do you wanna help and why do you wanna help them.

I'm really excited for this episode because if you didn’t know this about me, I’m a huge nerd and I love numbers. I geek out on formulas, spreadsheets and all sorts of calculations. I know, I know pretty weird for a lifestyle influencer but I was a Business Management Economics major and my favorite class was econometrics which was a mix of statistics and business calculus, and in that calculating the instances of winning a poker hand - I used to play poker a lot too but that’s for another episode.
This is just going to be about me sharing some interesting and shocking stats that make it a pretty good time to be an influencer and be in the influencer marketing space right now - because let me tell you - it is blowing up!
In Episode 3, I’m going to be talking about the meaning of the word influencer. I’m going to be sharing with you how the word influencer even came about, a little bit of history and of course, what it means to me and my own perspective.
I also asked some of my fellow influencer friends and colleagues to join in to tell you what the word influencer means to them. I’ll also be sharing with you what it means to brands and to the influencer marketing industry.
Do you REALLY know what an influencer is? Have you heard the term but aren't exactly sure what it means?
Influencers are oftentimes portrayed as self-centered divas who only care about getting the perfect photo and are always boasting about how many followers they have, and there’s even been bad press lately about influencers asking for free stuff like hotel stays or meals.
Now I’m not gonna lie, there are influencers like that who fit the bill. But when I talk about influencers on this podcast, I’m talking about a different type of influencer: one that is not growing a following for fame or fortune. But because they want to help people. You can help a lot more people if you have a bigger audience. Your message, whatever that is, can reach more people if you have a big audience. That’s just the truth.
I break it all down more in Episode 2.

Welcome to The Spark Show! In this episode, my very first episode, I wanted to just introduce myself and share my vision for this podcast. I also wanted to share with you why I started this podcast and what I hope to achieve.
First of all, let’s talk about who this podcast is for because audience is the most important thing. The Spark Show is for digital influencers and to me, that includes content creators, bloggers, YouTubers, Instagrammers, entrepreneurs and business owners who are growing their audience, monetizing their following and making a positive impact with their platform.
I started this podcast because I wanted to create a platform where I can talk to you one-on-one, ear-to-ear where I can share tips, strategies, stories and experiences that will inspire and empower you through your influencer journey.

In this blog, I’ll be covering:
If this is the first time we’re connecting, my name is Gwen Lane. I’m the founder of the travel and lifestyle blog, The LA Girl and Spark Society where I help digital influencers get sponsored by brands EVEN if they don’t have a huge following yet.
So first let’s talk about the SPARK ATTRACTION METHOD - this is my 3 step process that I use to attract brands. I’ve used this process to work with brands like Disney, Facebook, Nike, Target, Starbucks and more, and it’s the same method that my students are using to work with brands and get paid brand deals with less than 1,000 followers.
