Welcome to The Spark Show and Welcome to 2020! This is our first episode in the New Year and I’m so excited to be here with you. First of all, I know everyone is excited about this new year, this new decade. It’s also the Year of the Rat which is my year - so shoutout to all my fellow rats out there. When I was little and I found out about my Chinese Zodiac, I was like - “Ew, rat” but as I started doing my research I discovered that rats are known to be clever, quick thinkers and successful. In Chinese culture, rats are a sign of wealth so I’ll take that!
So in this episode, I wanna talk to you about intention. And this is a big one for me because before I started being more serious about personal development, which was when I started my business, I wasn’t clear on my intentions. I had thoughts and dreams like, “hey maybe someday I can do that” or “hey, that would be so cool if…” And that was it, they were just...
Hey there, welcome to The Spark Show! In this episode, I’m going to help you say goodbye to those excuses that we’re all guilty of saying. They’re the ones that stop us from moving forward and achieving success. It’s really gotta stop, especially now that we’re moving into a new year, new decade.
First of all, the first step to anything is awareness. So I want you to think of all the excuses you tell yourself on a regular basis. Just think of the ones you used recently. Here are some of the most common ones: “I don’t have time” or “I don’t have money” or “I don’t know how to X”
Yes, you know the ones. They are the ones that are stopping you from what you want.
For example, some of you want to start a business or grow your business. What are the excuses that come up? “I don’t have time to work on my business” or “I don’t have the money to invest in my...
Welcome to The Spark Show! In this episode, I’ll be sharing with you my New Year’s resolutions for 2020. I’ll also share with you some common resolutions and how to actually achieve them.
We all know how it is. It’s the end of the year and people are reflecting on all the things they didn’t do. If you listened to Episode 58 and 59, then you were doing the opposite hopefully, and reflecting on your wins and accomplishments.
But for everyone else and for most people, they’re looking at: “I didn’t lose the weight I wanted to” or “I didn’t go to the gym as much” or “I spent too much money again” or “I didn’t take that trip that I said I was going to.”
Most of the time, at the end of the year, people are feeling pretty down on themselves so they’re looking at the New Year as a fresh start, a do-over, so they can actually achieve those things that they want to...
Welcome to The Spark Show! OMG...2020 is almost here and I know everyone’s getting excited - planning and thinking about the upcoming New Year. It’s the end of the decade and everyone is excited for a reset, refresh, a new start.
In today’s episode, I wanna talk about how I plan out my 2020 so you can go through my step-by-step process and start the New Year off right.
But before I even think about 2020, I can’t start planning or doing anything about the future until I reflect and think about the past.
Hopefully while you’re listening to this episode, you have a pen and paper handy (you know me, I’m old school and like writing things down into existence). If not, you can go back and listen to it again and pause because this is going to be like a writing workshop because I really want you to go through this before the year ends. I want you to block out at least an hour or two for this exercise. I promise you’re going to feel...
Hey there, welcome to The Spark Show! In this episode, I’m going to talk to you about celebrating wins! I’m going to share with you some of my wins this year and why it’s so important to celebrate these wins.
So first I wanna talk about: what is a win? Sometimes people think this has to be some big, massive thing but really, it’s all about perspective.
Did you get out of bed this morning? That’s a win! I mean, some people won’t today. They won’t even get up and do anything. Or some people don’t even have a bed.
Did you get ready, take a shower, brush your teeth? I mean, having hot water on demand, that’s a win right there. I remember being in the Philippines when we didn’t have hot water at my grandfather’s house so it was either boil water or deal with the freezing cold water.
So maybe you’re seeing a pattern here. What celebration bring is GRATITUDE. And as some of you may know,...
Welcome to The Spark Show! In this episode, I’m going to be talking about my biggest lessons of 2019! At the time of this recording, we’re about three weeks out from 2020 and I’ve been doing a lot of reflection and planning for the New Year.
So today I wanna talk about X biggest lessons that I learned this year:
I worked a lot this year and there were definitely times that I worked way too much. There were times when I kept going when I shouldn’t and because I pushed myself so hard, I went into burnout mode. This for me means having periods where I didn’t feel like doing anything, feeling uninspired and not like taking action at all.
Lesson: The lesson here is to manage my time and my energy better. I’m going to be stricter on my work hours, give myself more time to complete projects so that I’m not trying to meet unrealistic deadlines. I’m going to take one full day off a week and give myself...
Welcome to The Spark Show! In this episode, I’m talking about the power of community.
I’ll be covering:
When you build a community, you build connection. You’re not just talking at people, you’re talking to them and they’re talking to each other.
They identify with you on an emotional level and they relate to you as a person. Not just someone they see on your phone, but as a real human being.
The difference between a community and audience is that an audience watches, they are spectators. They are not involved. A community cares about each other, it’s a safe space for people to share and be vulnerable.
So how do you make it a community and foster connection?
You’re the...
