Welcome to The Spark Show! In this episode, I talk to Kelsey Chapman, author of What They Taught Me: Recognizing the Mentors Who Will Take You From Dream to Done, that is out on shelves now. She’s also a podcaster and personal cheerleader to women building their dream life and business.
We discuss why it's important to have a mentor, how your mentor may already be in your inner circle, the difference between investing in a mentor versus "picking their brain," and so much more!
"I love women investing in women and I have known since I was a little girl that I wanted to write books, that's been something that's been a dream for as far back as I can remember," said Chapman. "And when I started putting pen to paper, or keyboard to Google Docs a few years ago, I really just started with this story of a woman who invested so generously in me and I was like,...
Welcome to The Spark Show! In this episode, I talk to certified integrative wellness & life coach, health blogger, lifestyle influencer, content creator and mental health advocate, Katja Lillian about ways you can implement a healthy routine into your lifestyle!
We discuss the key takeaway to living a balanced lifestyle, why it's important to have a coach / mentor if you want to focus on health and wellness, and how she impacts women and helps them to live a healthier life mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
"My one answer would be time management, some more time management, and then some more time management," said Lillian. "I think there were just a lot of hours that I discovered in the day that I didn't know I had. How many times do we just kind of sit around or we postpone things? We procrastinate. So, I really needed to challenge myself by raising my productivity with every single hour...
Welcome to The Spark Show! In this episode, I’m talking about your influencer success roadmap. This is your guide no matter where you are in your influencer business. There are 5 stages and I’m going to walk you through each of them in today’s episode.
The first stage is “Build Your Brand.” In this stage, this is where you need to get clear on who you are as a brand, what your values are, your mission and your vision. This is where you also need to be clear on who your audience is, who you serve, who you will be delivering value to, who you are trying to help.
If you’re just starting out, you wanna make sure you spend some time here and really honing in on your brand. Things get a lot easier in the next stages when you know who you are and who you help. Just because you know this now, it doesn’t mean you won’t revisit this over and over again. Big companies have teams where all they focus on is...
Welcome to The Spark Show! In this episode I’ll be talking about 2021 Social Media Trends so that you can make those crucial decisions on what you’ll be spending time on this year to grow your following, reach more people and make a bigger impact.
Studies show that podcast listening is on the rise with people favoring easy-to-consume content that you can listen to on-the-go. Advertisers are spending more on podcasts and that looks like that’s just going to continue.
The new voice-only social media app, Clubhouse, is also proof that voice is taking over. People love being able to listen in and join conversations from celebrities and top entrepreneurs. With it being invite-only and iOs only, people have been clamoring for invites all over the other platforms.
Twitter also launched a beta version of Spaces, their audio-only feature.
If you don’t love video, then these channels may be where you want to spend your time...
Welcome to The Spark Show! In this episode, I’ll be talking about how to create new habits that you’ll actually stick to. At the time of this recording, it’s the beginning of 2021 and I’m sure like everyone you’re excited for the new year and the possibilities it brings.
You’re probably thinking about goals and all the things you want to accomplish this year and the thing is, you’re going to have to really put in the work and take action if you want to achieve those goals.
Because if you’re like me, this has happened before. I’m sure. You’re super excited, you create a list of 10-20 goals and then you start off super strong and excited, and then after a week, month or quarter you struggle with the consistency and then it kinda just fizzles.
Don’t worry, it’s not just you. It’s everybody. I don’t know one person that did not have the experience of not achieving something that they...
Happy New Year and welcome to The Spark Show! In this episode, I’ll be talking about how to choose your 2021 word of the year. I’ll also be sharing my 2021 word of the year and how having a word of the year has contributed to my success.
First of all, I know you might be thinking - “2021 word of the year? What’s that? Do I really need to do that? There’s so much I want to accomplish this year! Why do I only pick one word?”
So, before we even get to choosing your word for the year, let’s talk about why you should have a word of the year.
First, I know in the beginning of the year, you’re excited. It’s a fresh start, you survived 2020 and now it’s that time where you’re feeling like you can accomplish anything. And, not to be a downer, but we all know that even though we have a strong start, it’s getting those things done that can be the real challenge.
Welcome to The Spark Show! In this episode, I’ll be talking about self-care: why it’s so important, why you shouldn’t believe what people are saying about it, and how you can practice it in your daily life to be the best version of yourself.
First of all, let’s talk about self-care. There is no right way to care for yourself. Only you know how to do that. Only you truly know what makes you feel good, how you feel most nurtured and supported. So, if you haven’t done this ever or in a while, I want you to make a list of things that make you feel good and cared for: physically, emotionally, and mentally.
Let’s talk about physical self-care first. This could be what you eat and put into your body, physical fitness and what you make your body do, and what you use on your body. Maybe it could be really simple like making sure you are hydrated every single day - yes, that’s self care. Or, it could be getting a fitness...
Welcome to The Spark Show! In this episode, I’ll be talking about how to stop being insecure. Because let’s face it, everyone has moments where they feel insecure and I wanna talk about where that actually comes from, how to be aware of it, and how to overcome it.
I believe that everything in this world comes from two things, either fear or love. And, when we’re feeling insecure, we’re coming from a place of fear. It’s because we’re afraid of being judged, being rejected, being disliked by others. It’s a totally human thing. We can’t help it, it just happens. We’re born with a primal fear and sometimes it can take over us. Similar to a survival mechanism that gets triggered when we’re in danger, it’s the same kind of fear that can take over when we put ourselves in situations of being judged. Our brain and body sometimes doesn’t know the difference, and that’s where the mind comes in.
It is only with the...
Welcome to The Spark Show! In this episode, I talk about facing your fears as a new entrepreneur.
First of all, congratulations! There are many people who won’t even take this step because let’s be honest, it’s a big one. It’s a scary one! And, it’s definitely not for everyone.
The first fear is something that, of course, everyone is discouraged into going into entrepreneurship, because it is the unknown, and there is a fear of the unknown. It is not like your job where you go in, you do whatever they tell you to do, and every two weeks you get a paycheck.
The thing with entrepreneurship is you don't know when your paycheck is coming. So, you also don't know how long it's gonna take to get to the goals that you want to get to. Of course, that's scary to do that. And, as an entrepreneur who has been doing this for many, many years now, I've realized that I just need to be...
Welcome to The Spark Show! In this episode, I’ll be talking about how to say NO and feel good about it. Some of you may have trouble with saying no because you’re a people-pleaser. If this stings a little or you’re nodding your head right now - it’s okay. We all have people-pleasing tendencies. The first step, as with anything, is to be aware.
The first thing that I wanna talk about with this topic is really asking yourself one question that will help guide your decisions - “What do I want?” This is a question that seems so basic and simple yet most people can’t answer this question right now.
When you’re clear on what you want, it’s easy to make decisions because all decisions will be informed based on what you truly want. In Episode 12, I talk about getting clear on your big vision. If you haven’t listened to that or it’s been a while - make sure you spend some time to do that.
